A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN PHOENIX JAR, LATE MING DYNASTY. Decorated with two phoenix in flight amidst floral scrolls. Four-character mark to base reading 'Yong bao chang chun', translated as 'Eternal life and everlasting spring'. With a later carved and pierced cover. Jar approx. 13cm tall.
Jar probably shortened at rim. No further defects. Wooden cover damaged and glued.
