CHINESE JADE ELEPHANT GROUP ON WOODEN STAND, 19/20TH CENTURY. A procession of five individually carved nephrite jade elephants on a carved and pierced openwork stand. Stand 30cm length. Provenance: Property of Terence E B Harnden who served as Senior Naval Stores Officer in Hong Kong between 1937 - 1940. Acquired in Hong Kong before returning to England, thence by descent.
Rear right leg repaired to largest elephant but hardly noticeable on display. 2cm section of loss to openwork stand to one side.
