A 20TH CENTURY JAPANESE SILVER OKIMONO OF A MINOGAME. The mythical turtle depicted with a typical long, feathery seaweed tail, its head raised and turned slightly to the left, its eyes inlaid in gold-coloured metal and shakudo, signed on the underside 'Ryubundo tsukuru’ and seal stamped gin (silver). 29cm long x 15cm wide x 6cm high, weight approx. 1.5kg
Minor surface wear, one of the seaweed tips is blunt, overall in good decorative order. Has not been tested for silver content.
