RARE CHINESE SONG / YUAN DYNASTY POTTERY BUDDHIST ZODIAC JAR WITH SANSKRIT INSCRIPTION. Decorated with appliqués comprising four lotus leaf panels containing human figures and the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. Incised wavy lines around the shoulder. In places Sanskrit-type characters in red pigment. Complete with cover. Yunnan province. c.12th – 14th Century. Height 25cm. Minor surface wear.
