EIGHT CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE NANKING CARGO PORCELAIN TEA BOWLS, 18TH CENTURY, WITH SIGNED COPY OF CHRISTIE'S CATALOGUE. The cups decorated with coastal scenes, circa 1750, approx 6.5cm diam (8).
Sold with a copy of the original hardback catalogue from Christie's Amsterdam 'The Nanking Cargo Chinese Export Porcelain and Gold' 1986 sale, signed on page 9 by Captain Michael Hatcher himself, who famously salvaged the hoard from the Geldermalsen, a VOC ship that sank on its homeward journey in 1752. Together with the original Christie's sale invoice, the realised price list form the sale, customs paperwork, together with a poster featuring the cover image of the sale.
